Mediabuddy is a personal movie and TV show tracker. We collect only the data needed to make the app work and never sell your information to third parties.

Data We Collect

• Account information — email address and display name via Sign in with Apple.
• Library data — movies, shows, ratings, tags, notes, and watch history you add to the app.
• Usage analytics — anonymous events like “screen viewed” or “item added”, sent via TelemetryDeck. No personal identifiers are included.
• Device tokens — for push notifications, if you enable them.

How We Use Your Data

• Syncing your library across devices.
• Generating AI-powered recommendations and insights.
• Sending notifications about new episodes and releases you track.
• Improving the app based on anonymous usage patterns.

Third-Party Services

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
• TMDB — movie and TV show metadata (posters, descriptions, cast).
• TelemetryDeck — privacy-first analytics. No cookies, no IP tracking.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple and StoreKit for subscriptions.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase servers with row-level security policies. All communication uses HTTPS. Your library is also cached locally on your device for offline access.

Your Rights

• Export all your data from Settings in the app.
• Delete your account and all associated data from Settings.
• Contact us at privacy@mediabuddy.app for any privacy-related requests.

Children

Mediabuddy requires users to be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
